All kind of public and optional holidays in Pakistan are announced by the Ministry of Interior unless local holidays that are announced by the local or provincial governments. The Gazetted Holidays in Pakistan are announced by the Ministry of Interior every year in the month of January.
The Gazetted Holidays in Pakistan starts with the holiday of Kashmir Day 05 February and end with Quaid Day 25 December Holiday.
Following holidays are officially observed in Pakistan and are declared as Public Holidays in Pakistan.

- Kashmir Day – 05th February
- Pakistan Day – 23rd March
- Labour Day – 1st May
- Eid ul Fitr – (On 1st Shawal)
- Independence Day – 14th August
- Eid ul Azha – (10th Zil Haj)
- Ashura – (9th and 10th Moharrum)
- Eid Milad ul-Nabi – (12 Rabi ul Awal)
- Quaid e Azam Day – (25th December)
This year most of the public holidays will fall on Monday or mid of the week. So need to worry about public holidays on weekends that happened to fall on a weekend in last year. In addition to Public Holidays 2018 in Pakistan, the Interior Ministry also issued the notification for optional holidays as well. However, past practice shown that these are just formality as optional holidays have never been announced as a public holiday at all except some regional and local holidays.
