Federal Urdu University Islamabad Admissions 2018: Programs Offered & Application Form

The Federal Urdu University Islamabad has announced admission for various Bachelor, Masters, MPhil and PhD programs for the Year 2018. Programs Offered & Eligibility Criteria

The Federal Urdu University is offering following programs for the Year 2018. Each program mentioned below also contains the eligibility criteria as well.

BBA (Morning)

  • Duration: 4 years (8 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 138 (126 Cr. For Core Courses, 12 Cr. for Specialization Courses)
  • Eligibility – HSSC or equivalent with minimum 50% marks from recognised

MBA, 3 – ½ Years (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 3 – 1/2 years (7 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 90 (72 Cr. for Core Courses, 12 Cr. for Specialization Courses, 06 Cr. for Project / Research Work)
  • Eligibility – Bachelor or Equivalent degree (14 years education) with at least 50 % marks from a recognised

MBA, 1 – ½ Years (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 1 – 1/2 years (3 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 33 (15 Cr. for Core Courses, 12 Cr. For Specialization Courses, 06 Cr. for Project / Research Work)
  • Eligibility BBA 4 years or equivalent with at least 130-138 credit hours with minimum CGPA of 2.5/4.00 or B.Com 4 years/BS Commerce with at least 50% marks.

MBA Executive (Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 66 (54 Cr. for Core Courses, 12 Cr. Specialization Courses)
  • Eligibility – Minimum 14 years education with at least 50 % Marks. Minimum four years of post-qualification professional experience or two years of professional experience after 16 years of education.

MBE (Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 66 (54 Cr. for Core Courses, 12 Cr. Specialization Courses)
  • Eligibility – Bachelors or equivalent degree (14 years education) with at least 50% marks from a recognised

MS Business Administration, 1 ½ years (Evening)

  • Duration: 1 – 1/2 year (3 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 30 (24 Cr. for Courses, 06 Cr. for Thesis / Specialization Course Work instead of Thesis)
  • Eligibility – At least 60% marks or CGPA 2.50/4.00 in MBA / MPA/ M.Com/ ACMA/ B.COM 4 years / BBA 4 Years (124-136 Credit Hours). GAT (General) with minimum 50% score.

Master of Commerce (M.Com, Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 66 (54 Cr. for Core Courses, 12 Cr. Specialization Courses)
  • Eligibility –Com with at least 50 % marks.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com, Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit Hours: 58 Cr. for Core Course Work
  • Eligibility – HSSC or equivalent with minimum 50% marks.

BS Computer Science (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 4 years (8 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 134 (128 Cr. for coursework, and 06 credit hours for project)
  • Eligibility – FSc (Pre-Engineering) with at least 50% marks or D.A.E with at least 60% marks Or ICS with at least 50% Marks.

MSc Computer Science (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
  • Credit hours 72 (66 Cr. for coursework and 06 credit hours for project)
  • Eligibility –A/B.Sc. (with Mathematics) with at least 50% marks or BCS (2 years) with at least 50% marks or 2.5/4.00 CGPA.

MS (CS) (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
  • Eligibility – BS (CS) 4 years degree program (Minimum130 credit hours) with at least CGPA 2.5/4.00 OR MCS/MSc (Computer Science) with at least 50% marks, 16-year mathematical science graduates are eligible, but they have to read deficiency courses. GAT (General) with 50% Score.

BS Applied Physics (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Credit hours: 140 (117 Cr. for coursework,17 credit hours for laboratory and 06 credit hours for project )
  • Eligibility – FSc or equivalent (with Physics and mathematics) with at least 50% marks or D.A.E (at least 60% marks) from a recognized

M.Sc Applied Physics (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit hours 66 (51 Cr. for coursework,09 credit hours for laboratory and 06 credit hours for project )
  • Eligibility – Sc. or equivalent (with Physics and mathematics) with at least 2nd division (45% marks) from recognised institution/university.

M.Phil Applied Physics (Morning/Evening)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
  • Credit hours: 50 (24 Cr. for coursework and 26 credit hours for thesis)
  • Eligibility –Sc. (Physics) Or equivalent degree from HEC recognised institution/university with the at least 2nd division. GAT (General) with 50% score. Internal test and interview will also be held. Employees apply for the M.Phil program should produce NOC from the concerned department before the commencement of Mid-Term exams.

M.Sc Economics (Morning)

  • Duration 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 60 (54 Cr. for coursework and 06 credit hours for thesis)
  • Eligibility Bachelor degree in economics, B.A/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA with at least 50% marks from recognised institution/university.

M.Phil Economics (Morning)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 30 (24 Cr. for coursework and 06 credit hours for thesis)
  • Eligibility A/M.Sc Economics from HEC recognised institution/university with the at least 1st division or 3.00/4.00 CGPA.GAT (General) with 50% accumulative score.

PhD Economics (Morning)

  • Duration 3 years (6 Semesters)
  • Credit hours 18 (18 Cr. for coursework)
  • Eligibility Phil Economics from HEC recognised institution/university with at least 3.00/4.00 CGPA. GAT (Subject) with 60% accumulative score.

B.Sc Electrical Engineering (Electronics) (Morning)

  • Duration 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Credit hours 135 (129 credit hours of coursework and 06 credit hours for project)
  • Eligibility FSc or equivalent (Pre-Engineering with Physics, chemistry and mathematics) with at least 60% marks or D.A.E (Electrical/Electronics) with at least 70% marks from a recognised Merit criteria (Matric 10%, HSSC 50%, NAT 40% ) candidates have to submit NAT result with admission form.

MS Electrical Engineering (Evening)

  • Duration: 1- 1/2 years (3 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 30 (24 Cr. for coursework and 06 credit hours for thesis)
  • Eligibility Sc. Engineering Electrical/Electronics/Telecom/Computer/Power Engineering in a PEC recognised program with at least 2.50/4.00 CGPA. GAT (General) with at least 50% accumulative score.

M.A (Urdu)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 60 (60 Cr. for coursework)
  • Eligibility A with Urdu as optional with at least 50% marks.

M.Phil Leading to PhD (Urdu)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 30 (24 Cr. for coursework and 06 credit hours for thesis/coursework)
  • Eligibility Preferably 1st division in MA Urdu GAT (General).

PhD (Urdu)

  • Duration: 3 years (6 Semesters)
  • Credit hours: 48 (18 Cr. for coursework and 30 credit hours for the thesis.)
  • Eligibility 00 CGPA in M.Phil Urdu. GAT Urdu

Admission in MS/M.Phil leading to PhD as per following HEC criteria

  • Sixteen years of schooling or 4 years education (130 credit hours) after HSSC/F.A/F.Sc

Grade 12 equivalents will be required for admission in MS/M.Phil is leading to PhD.

  • GAT (General) result will be necessary at the time of admission.
  • The minimum 50% accumulative score is required in GAT (General) for M.S/M.Phil
  • In case of Gat (Subject) test minimum of 60% score is required to pass the test for PhD
